Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Mechanic to join our automotive service team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance, providing a valuable foundation for a career in the automotive industry. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, possesses basic mechanical knowledge, and demonstrates a strong work ethic. Prior truck transport experience and familiarity with tools and schematics are a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate. This role involves working closely with experienced mechanics to develop skills in automotive repair, welding, and equipment assembly within a professional environment. applicant must have own transportation, public transportation is not available
Duties
Assist senior mechanics with vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance tasks
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to perform repairs and modifications
Follow technical schematics and assembly instructions to ensure accurate work
Conduct routine inspections and identify mechanical issues requiring attention
Perform heavy lifting of parts and equipment safely during repair processes
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to ensure safety compliance
Support vehicle disassembly and reassembly as needed for repairs or upgrades
Learn to interpret technical manuals and schematics under supervision
Contribute to ongoing maintenance projects to improve shop efficiency and safety standards
Experience
Previous dealership experience or automotive repair background is preferred but not required
Familiarity with mechanical systems, schematics, and assembly processes is advantageous
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment is beneficial
Knowledge of automotive maintenance procedures and basic repairs is a plus
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work with various mechanical components
Customer service skills are valued for interactions with clients when necessary
Prior experience working with schematics or technical diagrams will be helpful in understanding repair instructions
