Vehicle Technician

£28-40k basic DOE, plus uncapped bonus (Around £15,000-£20,000)

Southport

Permanent/Full Time - 40 hours per week, weekend on rota & paid as overtime

Our client, a Motor Trade main dealer group in the Southport area of Merseyside, is on the lookout for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their busy workshop. If you are fully qualified and hold the right experience – this could be your next role! Please apply today.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Servicing vehicles

• Assisting less experienced Technicians

• Carrying out checks and maintenance according to the manufacturers' guidelines.

• Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components.

• Advising the Service Receptionists about required repairs.

• Producing time estimates.

• Maintaining repair and service records

• The right individual must be confident and professional in their approach while being someone who can be efficient.

Your Background & Skill:

• City and Guilds or NVQ Automotive Servicing and Repair Level 3

• Knowledge of Warranty procedures

• Ability to work within time frames.

• Experience working within a main dealer workshop is essential.

• Must hold a Full UK driving licence.

Salary details: Apprentice, £7.55 per hour/£14,526 per annum from 1st April 2025 for all ages in their first year of the apprenticeship. The National Minimum Wage as appropriate to age is then paid for the remainder of the apprenticeship contract following completion of the first year. We are expanding our Vehicle Maintenance team and are looking for an eager and committed individual to join us. Our team is currently involved in the repair and maintenance of over 650 vehicles and 800 items of plant, ranging from the smallest grass mower to 26 Tonne three axle HGV`s, needing not just reactive repairs but planned maintenance.

While our reactive repair team are involved in the maintenance and repairs of the authority’s fleet, we also have dedicated MOT testing, Taxi and Private hire compliance testing and in house body shop.
