Role:
Sr/Lead Technical Writer (App Scan Product).
Experience:
8 to 12 years of experience.
Work Location:
Remote/Hybrid
Responsibilities:
Research, write, and finalize technical product documentation for enterprise software.
Build and publish end-user documentation for product releases.
Create clear and concise technical content for end users.
Plan, estimate, and deliver the work allocated on time.
Work closely with Development, QA, Product Management, and Technical Support teams.
Create high-quality documentation by adhering to the standard writing guidelines and ensure that the documents are easily readable, technically accurate, and complete.
Work with a good knowledge of XML-based authoring tools.
Create content by using DITA methodology and apply the prescribed word usage guidelines.
Create short and appealing videos that demonstrate product features, how-to procedures, and write blogs in public forums.
Knowledge of style guides such as the Chicago Manual of Style, IBM Style, or Microsoft Style is an advantage.
Exposure to the translation cycles is a plus.
Highly desirable skills:
DITA XML (in particular, topic-based authoring)
XML/SGML editor such as Oxygen, Arbortext, DITA Open Toolkit, or Frame Maker
Basic programming or scripting skills (to automate repetitive tasks)
IBM documentation style and Information Development Workbench (IDWB)
Technical illustration; multimedia content creation
Agile development practices
Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
