The Role
The role is responsible for the review and development of policy on non-financial Defence personnel matters including the preparation of submissions for the consideration of senior Defence executives.
Key duties:
Develop and review ADF personnel policy for promulgation and implementation.
Prepare responses to Ministerials and departmental correspondence on personnel matters.
Prepare submissions for consideration by senior Defence executives and committees.
Provide general research support as required.
Liaise with other Government agencies, Service Offices, other Programs, Branches and Directorates.
Prepare briefing material, correspondence and policy/procedural proposals on personnel matters.
Undertake other duties as directed.
About our Team
The Military People Policy sub-directorate is responsible for the administration of non-financial policy broadly related to military human resource management, and the career and personnel management of (uniformed) Australian Defence Force (ADF) members. Military people policy manages and advises amendments to the ADF Military Personnel Policy Manual; the Defence Regulations; legislated instruments of delegation and military law; and other health, and emergency/casualty policy documents. Military People policy engages widely throughout Defence, as well as externally with Home Affairs, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Australian Electoral Commission.
