The Role
The Programs and Implementation Directorate within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Branch is responsible for the design, development, implementation and promotion of mental health programs and packages for the Defence workforce to:
Develop and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs (AToD) programs, initiatives and activities;
Prepare and contribute to the development of mental health training materials, policies and processes;
Encourage and promote evidence-based health promotion practices to the Defence workforce;
Work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and implement AToD initiatives, programs and policies;
Use project management and stakeholder engagement skills to coordinate Subject Matter Expertise and mental health training facilitator feedback to continuously improve AToD training packages and resources and
Evaluate programs and initiatives to measure their success, and identify and provide recommendations for future improvement. You will work to the Assistant Director to provide subject matter expertise and strategic advice in relation to the development and implementation of policies, frameworks, initiatives and resources to stakeholder and senior leaders.
About our Team
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Branch comprises military members and civilian employees. We are growing into an inter-disciplinary team focused on improving the mental health and wellbeing of the Defence community.
The Programs and Implementation Directorate provides leadership in program development and implementation through consultation and collaboration with Defence Groups and Services, to adopt and monitor mental health and wellbeing activities.
We design and coordinate whole-of-Enterprise data-driven programs and promotion activities that are underpinned by contemporary best practice, scientific evidence and lived experience.

Advanced knowledge, skills and experience in the management and implementation of a national or large-scale strategic Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drug (AToD) programs
Skills and experience in AToD program design, development and implementation;
Work collaboratively and effectively in an integrated environment;
Demonstrate high-level organisational skills, self-drive and initiative;
Establish clear plans and timeframes, and respond positively to change and uncertainty;
Understand strategic objectives and translate them into tangible initiatives; and
Demonstrate high-level written and oral communication, agility and flexibility.
