Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

We have an exciting opportunity to join NDIA’s National Contact Centre (NCC) as an APS5 Support and Communications Officer.
The NDIA National Contact Centre (NCC) delivers personalised and high-quality contact services about the NDIS for people with disability, their families and carers, service providers and organisations. Our participants are at the very centre of everything we do.
The NCC achieves its role to deliver a quality NDIA by providing seamless, high-quality experiences across contact channels and first contact resolution.

Where you can add value
As an APS5 Support and Communications Officer, you will be pivotal in supporting your team and senior management. You will be responsible for providing policy advice within an area of specialisation with advice based on policies and legislation.

Your responsibilities may include, but may not be limited to:

Drafting and contributing to high level correspondence and reports.
Contributing to Process Design and new initiatives
Creating and reviewing of knowledge articles, standard operating procedures, scripting and work instructions.
Authoring and publishing new resources
Providing feedback and support to teams to ensure quality outcomes.
Stakeholder engagement
Contributing to process improvements and implementation
Communicating change in easy to understand plain language.

This role will draw on candidates’ excellent verbal and written communication skills and will require a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders.
You will hold a key role in actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships. You may also represent and negotiate on behalf of the NDIA to advance the Scheme’s interests across a range of forums.

While this role is ideally performed from VIC - Dandenong, VIC – Geelong, QLD – Robina and ACT – Deakin, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months may be offered.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
