About these opportunities
The NACC has two Project Officer positions available for immediate filling in either, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney. A merit list will be established to fill vacancies arising in the next 18 months.
About the role
Reporting to the Assistant Director Capability or Senior Project Officer, this is a great opportunity to join a busy and professional team within the Evaluation Branch of the NACC.
In addition to the activities listed for each role below, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities. Supporting one another in this way provides opportunities for exposure across the agency and is an integral part of the NACC’s positive workplace culture.
The team works to an approved workplan based on identified and agreed priorities within the branch. The work is shared across the team, with individuals assigned responsibility for particular initiatives based on priorities, capacity and individual development goals.
Individual responsibilities will be discussed and made clear to all members of the team, and the work expected will be in line with the appropriate Work Level.
Key activities
Contributing to the delivery of capability projects, including identifying efficiencies and innovative solutions to problems
Helping to build team capability through the coordination and delivery of training across the branch, identifying trends in quality results and working with the leadership team to provide feedback and assistance in line with established procedures and training
Maintaining the currency and relevance of guidelines and standard operating procedures, including identifying and addressing areas for improvement
Co-ordinating various approval and case management processes, which may include preparing agendas and other associated documents, accurately recording decisions and ensuring cases are finalised appropriately.
Continued development and creation of training and guidance resources, including training packages, user guides and templates
Contribution to the development of the Quality Assurance (QA) framework to assist with training competencies and to ensure consistent delivery of services, data capture and the escalation of matters for further consideration
Preparation of briefing material and analytical reports, including responding to requests for information, and using system data to provide statistics and/or advice to other business areas
Contribution to the ongoing development of the case management system, through the identification of gaps, coordination of enhancement requests and user testing for operational use and to facilitate reporting and analysis
Identifying and raising training, system, performance issues
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders about project and operational objectives and issues
Eligibility
Employment with the NACC is subject to the following conditions:
Citizenship – applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
Security clearance – this is a Designated Security Assessment Position. The occupant of this position will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1.
Suitability assessment - the NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character. They must undergo a rigorous pre-employment suitability screening process that can be intrusive in nature including (but is not limited to) detailed background, character, employment, police and financial checks.
Probation - a probation period will apply to a new ongoing engagement in the Australian Public Service.
