The Role
Reporting to the Assistant Director, you’ll handle complex people management issues, including:
Oversee performance management, underperformance, Code of Conduct breaches, workplace conflict, bullying, harassment, dispute resolution, and reviews of action
Apply your deep knowledge of the Public Service Act 1999 and related legislation to deliver successful outcomes
Advise and support the Director and key stakeholders on complex employment matters, including drafting important correspondence
Oversee Code of Conduct investigations and manage performance frameworks in line with relevant laws, policies, and procedures
Provide administrative support for industrial employment matters with bodies like the Australian Human Rights Commission and Fair Work Commission
Contribute to the development of policies and initiatives that foster a culture of strong performance and conduct
The Ideal Person
You’re an experienced HR professional with a deep understanding of APS employment frameworks.
You have a proven track record in managing investigations, performance issues, and navigating complex HR challenges.
Your ability to interpret legislation and offer sound, strategic advice is matched by your communication skills, enabling you to manage relationships with sensitivity and confidence.
You have a demonstrated track record of advising senior executives on delicate people matters, particularly in the management of Code of Conduct investigations and performance issues within the APS framework.
Qualifications such as a Certificate IV or Diploma in Government investigations and/or HR are highly desirable.
