The opportunity we have available
The Property Section is responsible for the development and delivery of accommodation strategies, projects and day-to-day management of services and leasing across the department’s property portfolio. We are seeking to fill the role of Senior Project Officer.
What will you do?
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Property Projects, the Senior Project Officer will be responsible for:
Leading the delivery of property related projects;
Coordinating accommodation and staff relocations;
Developing and maintaining project plans, including evaluation;
Developing staff communication in relation to property related projects or staff relocations;
Developing and maintaining a range of internal and external stakeholder relationships; and
Providing high level assistance to the Assistant Director, Property Projects.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking experienced candidates with the ability to:
Manage property projects through to implementation under limited guidance;
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on property related projects and staff relocations;
Work with a level of independence to deliver quality outcomes;
Effectively manage competing priorities including having accountability for tasks, decisions and organising workflow;
Develop communication which is clear and concise; and
Negotiate with customers and stakeholders to resolve complex, sensitive or difficult issues and ensure positive outcomes whilst also managing expectations.
Higher Duties Allowance (HDA) may be considered for this role.

Eligibility requirements
Employment with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts is subject to conditions prescribed within the Public Service Act 1+++ including:
Citizenship: To be eligible for employment with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts applicants must be an Australian citizen at the time of submitting your application.
Health Assessment: The preferred candidate may be required to undergo a medical examination conducted by the department’s preferred medical provider.
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to obtain and/or maintain a security clearance at a minimum Baseline Clearance Level. You must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information. You must have lived in Australia, or have a checkable background, for at least the preceding five years for Baseline Vetting clearances. More information on the security clearance vetting process is available on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website.
