ARCHITECT II
VCBO Architecture is an award-winning, integrated design firm with two offices located in Utah and providing design services throughout the Intermountain West. VCBO employs exceptional people, dedicated to providing clients with functional, beautiful, sustainable and future-focused projects.
VCBO Architecture (www.vcbo.com) is seeking an ARCHITECT II to join our St. George office.
General Duties:
As an Architect II, you will:
Perform in a self-directed manner all aspects of the building design process, including preparation of presentation materials, schematic design, design development and contract documents, model building, rendering and construction administration activities within an established budget, schedule, site and programmatic requirements.
Qualifications
Possess experience working on a variety of projects, including programming, conceptual design, schematic design, and design development. Have experience in preparing drawings for schematic design and design development as well as in preparing preliminary design studies and adaptations of alternatives for review, contract documents including details, sections, elevations and schedules. Will produce amendments, addenda and bulletins. Complete self-checks work for accuracy, omissions and legibility. Will exercise creative judgment and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials, including design sketches, renderings, models and graphics. Will assists in preparing adaptations and technical alternatives for project team review. Must possess knowledge of architectural detailing and current construction standards along with building systems.
• Bachelors of Architecture or Masters Degree Required
• 5-7 years of experience as an architect
• Licensed Architect desired but not required
• Basic computer and internet skills are required
• Experience in Revit, Sketchup, Rhino, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge and/or understanding of project management software
• Bachelor of Architecture (5 years) or Masters of Architecture Degree required
• Adobe Suite
• Bluebeam Revu
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be a motivated self-starter
• Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple projects in various stages of development
