Job Description
• Relevant experience, typically 5+ years, in an engineering, architectural or construction design coordination / project management role.
• Good communication skills and command over spoken and written English.
• Confidence with people engagement to obtain project information, updates and actions.
• Ability to analyse information from different sources and assemble into a meaningful document in the form of a report, programme, spreadsheet, etc.
• Comfortable with receiving instructions and accepting personal responsibility for their actions.
• Understands the criticality of providing support to an overseas manager to fulfil a defined contractual obligation.
• Conversant with Microsoft software such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word. The ability to use and / or understand MS-Project or similar programming tools is desirable but not required.
• Capable of managing and prioritising their own work.
• Basic understanding of commercial awareness, such as Change control.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Routinely able to work to tight deadlines for UK and international projects.
• Comfortable working independently and is highly self-motivated.
• Able to communicate across time zones effectively and efficiently.
• Open to working reasonably flexible hours to suit project requirements.
• Experience of working with a team outside of India from an Indian base location is benefiical.
Candidate will be expected to carry out various management tasks and responsibilities to include the following :
• Assist UK Design Managers / Project Managers in the management and coordination of the design process for multidisciplinary projects in various sectors buildings, transportation, water, healthcare, energy etc.
• Assist to set up / chair / attend design team meetings and / or take minutes and record actions.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of trackers / registers to include deliverables registers, comment tracking, action logs, risks & opportunities, assumptions, requirements, RFIs, interface management, etc.
• Assist in preparing progress reports, presentations, project directory, organograms, dashboards and graphical representation of data, project / design management plans, flowcharts, various contractual communications or documents to manage change.
• Assist in recording design change processes and putting in place effective protocols to support delivery of a design solution.
• Assist the UK Design Manager in the assessment of performance metrics by applying tools and procedures that contribute to successful project delivery.
• Engage with the project team to drive the progress of project deliverables per agreed schedule.
• Proactively identify and highlight any risks & opportunities to progress and scope of service obligations.
• Work with the WSP values to ensure that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is maintained.
