Job Summary:
As an Area Sales Manager for construction chemicals, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market share within your designated territory. You will manage relationships with key clients, develop and execute sales strategies, and provide technical support to ensure the successful application of construction chemical products. Your role will involve both strategic planning and hands-on sales activities to achieve revenue targets and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Management:
• Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to achieve revenue targets and market share growth in the assigned area.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including potential clients and projects.
• Manage the sales pipeline from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of customer inquiries.
2. Client Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including contractors, builders, and distributors.
• Conduct regular meetings with clients to understand their needs, provide product recommendations, and offer technical support.
• Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to product performance or application.
3. Market Development:
• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
• Develop strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and differentiate the company’s products from competitors.
• Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the company and build relationships.
4. Technical Support:
• Provide technical guidance and training to clients and the sales team on product features, benefits, and applications.
• Assist clients with product selection and troubleshooting, ensuring proper use and application of construction chemicals.
• Collaborate with the technical support team to address complex technical issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
5. Sales Reporting and Analysis:
• Monitor sales performance, track key metrics, and prepare regular reports for management review.
• Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and project status.
6. Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
• Coordinate with other sales managers and departments to ensure alignment of goals and strategies.
• Provide feedback and insights to improve product offerings and sales processes.
7. Compliance and Documentation:
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and review contracts, proposals, and other documentation related to sales transactions.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field. (Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.)
• Proven experience in sales, preferably in the construction chemicals or related industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction chemicals and their applications.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Sales App or Sales software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
