The Area Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales targets, developing and implementing sales strategies, managing a team of sales representatives, and ensuring customer satisfaction within their assigned area. They play a vital role in driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
1. Find & appoint Super Distributors / Super Stockists.
2. Achieve Monthly Quarterly | Annual Sales Targets for all the Business Units - LED Lights, Trolleys & Ladders.
3. Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets and objectives.
- Identify market opportunities and trends, and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Analyse sales data, market research, and competitor information to develop effective sales plans.
4. Team Management:
- Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a team of sales representatives.
- Set clear sales targets and provide guidance and support to achieve them.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Motivate and inspire the team to maximize their potential and meet sales goals.
5.Sales Operations:
- Monitor sales activities, track progress, and provide accurate sales forecasts.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Resolve escalated customer issues and complaints in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and product management, to align strategies and achieve business objectives.
6. Market Development:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned area.
- Conduct market research and gather customer feedback to identify customer needs and preferences.
- Monitor competitor activities and develop strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns and initiatives.
7. Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular sales reports, including sales performance, market analysis, and competitor activities.
- Present findings, recommendations, and progress updates to senior management.
- Utilize CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools to track and manage sales activities effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Exposure to area Sales and Corporate Sales of 6 to 8 Years (Minimum), in Electrical / Lighting Industry is Mandatory
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of sales principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyse sales data, market trends, and customer preferences.
- Proficient in using CRM software and other sales-related tools.
- Self-Driven, Performance & Growth & result Oriented, Full of Competitive & Team Spirit and able to work under pressure to meet sales targets.
- Flexibility to travel within the assigned area as required.
