Job Description
Off-Piste Fine Arts provides collectors with access to an expansive collection of works by leading Canadian and international contemporary artists. With over 30 years in the art business and 7 locations across North America, representing world-class artists and serving a global, high-net-worth clientele. We are in a growth phase, with additional U.S. and Canada expansion on the horizon.
Summary
We are seeking a commercially minded, relationship-driven Art & Design Trade Specialist to expand our presence within the interior design and architecture industries. This role is responsible for building and managing partnerships with interior designers, architects, and design firms, positioning our artwork as a go-to solution for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. Including commissions.
Unlike traditional gallery sales, this role focuses on volume-driven, repeat business by integrating art into design projects—prioritizing aesthetic alignment, customization, and ease of collaboration over purely collector-driven sales.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Outreach
Identify and build relationships with interior designers, architects, and design firms locally and in target markets
Conduct targeted outreach via email, LinkedIn, and industry platforms (e.g., Houzz, ASID directories)
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of trade clients and project opportunities
Attend industry events, trade shows, gallery openings, and design fairs to drive visibility and connections
Partnership Management
Establish and nurture long-term partnerships with trade professionals to drive repeat business
Present curated art proposals tailored to specific projects, client briefs, and design aesthetics
Create and pitch partnership decks highlighting customization options, pricing, and trade incentives
Collaborate on projects from concept through installation
Sales & Revenue Growth
Drive consistent revenue through trade channels (designers, architects, developers)
Implement and manage trade pricing strategies (discount & volume pricing)
Identify opportunities for art rentals, staging, and bulk placements
Work closely with internal sales and logistics teams to align inventory with project needs
Coordinate with gallery Consultants on commissioned work and custom projects
Marketing & Brand Positioning
Collaborate with marketing to develop targeted materials (lookbooks, mockups, case studies)
Support creation of digital content showcasing artwork in interior settings
Leverage Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn to engage with the design community
Ensure strong visual presentation of art in real-world and staged environments
Product & Market Alignment
Stay current with interior design trends (color palettes, materials, styles)
Provide feedback to curation and artist teams on market demand
Facilitate custom commissions, including sizing, color adjustments, and medium selection
Position artwork as an accessible, design-enhancing solution rather than purely collectible
Qualifications & Experience
3–7+ years in art sales, interior design, luxury retail, or related field
Strong network (or ability to build one) within the interior design or architecture community
Proven track record in B2B sales or partnership development
Strong visual sensibility and understanding of design aesthetics
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Highly self-motivated with a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset
Does this role require proficiency in specific visual software for creating mockups and presentations?
Key Competencies
Relationship-building and trust development
Commercial awareness and deal-making
Adaptability and solution-oriented thinking
Strong taste level and visual intelligence
Ability to balance creativity with practicality
Autonomous and self-motivated. (This is not an in-gallery position).
