Job Profile
The City of Cambridge is hiring Art Instructors to join our team. As an Art Instructor with the City of Cambridge, you will have an opportunity to instruct various groups and the following duties will apply:
What you will be doing
Develop and lead art programs using a variety of media, techniques and themes for participants of all ages. Media and techniques could include drawing and painting, sculpture and pottery, digital art and design.
Keep program rooms and supplies organized
Greet and orient children and parents to facility and programs
Maintain health and safety regulations; ensure code of conduct is followed
Education
High school Grade 12 diploma or equivalent. Post Secondary education in an Art discipline an asset
Experience and Knowledge
Demonstrated experience developing and leading art programs using a variety of media, techniques and themes for learners of all ages
Keen and enthusiastic attitude and approach to children, parents and arts programming
Excellent organizational and customer service skills

Current and valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check to be provided prior to commencement in this position.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training Certificate from the Ministry of Labour
Proof of your current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications.
Rate of pay
The hourly rate will be determined based on experience, education and training. The range is $20.00 - $40.00.
Hours of work
Flexible as needed during the Arts Centre hours of operation and depending on programming levels.
