The Opportunity Te kōwhiringa

Our Transport Services division is booming and growing at a rapid pace. To keep up with demand, we have a Tauranga based Full Time, Permanent role available as an Asphalt Quality Assurance Technician, where you will accurately record and meet quality objectives across current and upcoming contracts.

Ultimately, you will ensure material, construction and safety compliance along with seamless communication and reporting to management. You will also –

Ensure that Contract Quality Plans, ITP and other relevant documentation meets the contract specification requirements – providing information to manage quality issues on site.
Complete quality assurance and control documentation including Sealing Data Dockets, Spray Sheets, Weather Data, RAMM data and DJR’s etc.
Manage weather-related conditions such as road temperature, humidity and air temperature to assist with better management of site activities
Calculate and control material quantities to ensure compliance with customer requirements
Communicate results of findings and highlight quality/compliance issues with Contract Engineer/Foreperson as they arise
Support, implement and adhere to H&S policies and procedures.

This is a full time role with the requirement of working predominantly night shifts.

You will ideally have experience in maintaining accurate records and data management. We would also really value:

Full Class 1 Drivers License is required
A qualification in Civil or relevant experience in civil engineering would be highly desiable
Ability to conduct basic risk analysis applicable to construction operations
Have a good understanding of mathematics as applicable to surfacing operations/construction
Experience in submitting (loading) data accurately and on time as per specifications.
A great work ethic with a strong focus on Safety and Quality
Great communication skills with the confidence to speak up
Be able to do night shifts as this will be part of the position
Have a positive “can do” attitude
