What You Will Be Doing
Learning the purpose, features and design of the product.
Develop and debug of software products.
Ability to estimate size and scope of development effort of projects.
Strong Diagnostics, Debugging and Troubleshooting skills to include diagnosing SVC dumps.
End to end ownership for product enhancements, bug fixes – design to deploy
Interact with Product Management / Architects / Team Members to understand the scope of new requirements and resolve customer issues.
Provide resolution for product defects
Work with geographically diverse cross-functional teams to coordinate the development work
Work on customer issue resolution and proactive problem solving
Document change in features with support from IDD team
Develop and test codes as per BMC standards and document test results.
All you need is...
3 – 8 years of experience as Mainframe IMS developer.
Strong communication skills with the ability to participate in customer calls in high pressure situations to understand customer issues and provide workarounds and solutions.
Experience in designing and implementing mainframe applications in an IBM z/OS environment
Experience with writing documentation for developed applications and features.
Experience in high level assembler, ZOS and Development in ZOS.
Strong experience in z Enterprise Architecture and z/OS Internals
Strong experience in test automation using scripting languages like REXX, Python, etc. and DevOps CI/CD automation with Jenkins or similar tools.
Experience in Agile methodology and usage of JIRA tools
Strong experience in JCL, VSAM, DB2, JES2/3, SDSF, ISPF
Managing a varied workload of multiple ongoing tasks including new function development and product maintenance.
