Primary objective
Provide high-level administrative and business support by managing financial processes, information management systems,
and operational tasks. This role supports the Administrative Manager, Principal, and teaching staff in a dynamic and
demanding school environment, ensuring the efficient and effective management of school resources and data.
Context statement
Maningrida School located in the heart of Arnhem Land about 530 km from Darwin, is a prominent bilingual school catering
to approximately 680 students from year 0 to year 12. This position plays a crucial role in aiding the Admin/Business
Manager in the school’s daily operations.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high-level administrative support and financial support to the Business Manager, Principal and teaching staff as
necessary.
2. Responsible for managing payroll, receipting, invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and purchase order processing,
ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while providing guidance to staff.
3. Monitor and maintain the College’s Ochre Card database, ensuring timely updates and accurate reporting to the Business
Manager.
4. Effectively use school administration and operational systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, CI Anywhere, Student
Administration and Management System (SAMS), and XUNO to ensure efficient workflow and data accuracy.
5. Provide high level support to the Business Manager in budget management, financial reporting, and preparing project
reports for the School Council.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated high level administrative and organisational skills, including tracking and managing work deadlines,
adjusting priorities to meet deadlines and working collaboratively with others
2. Demonstrated knowledge of procurement policies and financial administration principals and procedures
3. Demonstrated experience in the management of cash and purchasing including receipting and banking monies and
processing of a large complex payroll as required.
4. Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of financial and administrative duties and to competently use associated
computer applications including finance software (Ci Anywhere), word processing and database applications such as
Student Administration Management System (SAMS) and XUNO.
5. Sound written and oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with people
from diverse cultures and work well with a wide range of people with tact and discretion
Desirable
1. Experience working within a school environment within a financial role.
2. Experience using CI Anywhere, Student Administration Management System (SAMS) and XUNO.
