Job Title: Assistant Banquet Manager
Direct Reports: Banquet Servers/Bartenders, Porters, and Outdoor Outlet seasonal staff
Job Summary / Purpose: To assist the Banquet Manager in the day-to-day operation of the banquet department. In the absence of the Manager, be responsible for the entire operation of the facility, ensuring constant implementation of policies and procedures in a safe clean environment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervise all banquet activities, including the set up of banquet rooms and food & beverage service according to client specifications.
Greet guests upon arrival; resolve guest complaints and answer questions to customer’s satisfaction.
Assist in hiring banquet staff as needed to maintain adequate levels for department; coach and counsel employees regarding career and personal development; conduct performance evaluation and provide feedback to employees.
Train banquet staff in proper set up, serving and clean up procedures.
Prepare schedules and assign duties to banquet staff.
Maintain adequate inventory levels to meet projected needs; request additional supplies as needed; clean and store all equipment in a secure manner.
Communicate with maintenance department regarding banquet equipment repair and/or safety issues.
Requirements/Specialized Skills
Overall knowledge of the entire operation in a hotel.
Requires a minimum of 2 year(s) of supervisory experience.
Requires a minimum of 4 year(s) of experience.
Prefer experience at properties of similar size and quality.
Position will be required to work a varied schedule that may include days, evenings and weekends
Must be able to communicate and direct employees efficiently.
Hands on attitude a must.
Always be willing to help all staff when needed.
Education & Certification
Smart Serve Intervention Program
Basic knowledge of wine service
First Aid and CPR Certificate
Hotel and Restaurant Management Diploma or equivalent education and experience
