The responsibilities for the Assistant Carpenter position include, but are not limited to:

The assistant carpenter must have general carpentry skills, working with materials such as wood and metal, and knowledge of basic carpentry tools and the ability to work with these tools safely. The assistant carpenter will do general checks of equipment prior to each performance. The Assistant Carpenter must be able to multitask and adapt, watching the show and artists movements, with the ability to adjust cues as needed. This technician must be able to troubleshoot issues that arise during a show, using clear communication to problem solve in a timely manner.

Required Skills/Abilities

• IATSE 720 member - “A” List

• Prior production show experience as an Assistant Carpenter for at least 5 years.

• Able to work with the Department Head.

• Able to work with numerous cast members and crew to troubleshoot operational show issues and clearly communicate needs/expectations with others.

• Willing to take work calls for general daily maintenance.

• Willing to take work calls for rehearsals and other special events.
