Job Description
Previous ADON experience preferred OR 2 years' unit manager/supervisory experience
Possess a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania., bachelor's degree preferred
Is knowledgeable of the needs of the aging and chronically ill requiring long term care
Possesses the ability to effectively communicate with personnel, resident, family members, visitors, government agency personnel, and the general public
Has patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition
Possesses strong leadership, communication, and observational skills and the ability to manage high stress situations
The Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, staffing and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Service Department
Resolve personnel issues and keep employees informed of current changes that affect the quality patient care provided
Develop work assignments and schedules, and assist nursing supervisory staff
Delegate the administrative tasks of the nursing teams assigned duties
Supervise all admissions for eligibility/denial of Medicare skilled services
Notify all providers of resident status of eligibility for skilled services and changes
Ensure that written physician orders for skilled services per Medicare guidelines are obtained and coordinate therapeutic services for residents
Make daily rounds of the nursing department to ensure that all work assignments and resident care needs are met
Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules and report medication errors
Provide direct nursing care as necessary
