We are currently seeking an Assistant General Counsel, Labour & Employment to join our legal department. Reporting to the General Counsel, this is an exciting opportunity to work as a strategic partner with the business on a broad range of challenging labour and employment matters while leading a team of professionals.

The successful candidate will join a best-in-class legal team that has steadily grown over the last ten years. The environment is supportive and friendly, and based on a corporate culture that gives high priority to personal and team development.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of legal professionals to support business units and cross-functional initiatives in relation to a wide range of employment and labour law matters.
Provide the company with legal advice on key/complex matters, identifying risks and mitigation options, and supporting the business in achieving its goals.
Form strong partnerships to advise and engage business leaders at varying levels, often navigating situations without precedent
Qualifications:
LL.B. or J.D
Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
10+ years experience, both firm and in-house
4+ years experience leading legal teams
Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in Labour & Employment
Humble and collaborative; a demonstrated problem-solver
Passionate about coaching, mentoring, and building strong business relationships
Highly adaptable and a life-long learner
