We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant High School Principal to join our leadership team.
Position Summary
The Assistant High School Principal provides instructional, operational, and student-centered leadership to ensure a safe, supportive, and high-performing learning environment. This role collaborates closely with the Principal, teachers, staff, students, families, and community partners to support academic success, student well-being, and school improvement initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Support & School Culture
Develop and oversee student support programs including MTSS, PBIS, attendance interventions, restorative practices, and social-emotional learning initiatives.
Monitor student behavior, attendance, and academic progress; implement intervention plans and support services.
Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe school climate for all students.
Handle disciplinary processes in alignment with school policies and state regulations.
Instructional Leadership
Support and evaluate teachers through classroom observations, coaching, and feedback aligned to school improvement goals.
Collaborate with instructional teams to improve curriculum, assessment, and instructional strategies.
Analyze academic data to inform school-wide improvement plans and targeted interventions.
Support professional development for faculty and staff.
Communication & Collaboration
Serve as a key liaison between administration, teachers, staff, students, and families.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, discipline, and school programs.
Participate in leadership meetings, faculty meetings, and school committees.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
Build partnerships with community organizations, higher education institutions, and industry partners.
Represent the school at community events, district meetings, and public forums.
Support family engagement initiatives and outreach programs.
Operational & Administrative Duties
Assist in developing and implementing school policies, procedures, and improvement plans.
Support scheduling, staffing, testing coordination, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Supervise assigned staff and student activities.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols, student supervision plans, and emergency procedures.
QualificationsRequired
Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.
Valid Utah administrative licensure (or eligibility to obtain).
Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience; administrative experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership, student discipline, and school improvement initiatives.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred
Experience in secondary education (high school environment).
Experience with data-driven school improvement and MTSS/PBIS frameworks.
Experience working with diverse student populations and inclusive education practices.
Knowledge of Utah education laws, UPPAC standards, and charter school governance (if applicable).
