Assistant Stager (Independent Contractor)
Description:
Furniture Affair is looking for a polished, detail-oriented Assistant Stager to support our staging team on a per-project basis. This role is ideal for someone with formal design training who enjoys hands-on work and thrives in fast-paced environments.
At Furniture Affair, staging is strategic. We transform vacant properties into aspirational homes that photograph beautifully and help listings stand out in competitive markets. This role requires in-person attendance at our warehouse and various job sites across the Valley.
This is a physically active, project-based position.
Core Responsibilities:
Assist with selecting and pulling furniture, artwork, and accessories for upcoming staging installs
Prepare and pack accessory bins, linens, and styling elements with organization and care
Support on-site installations including furniture placement, bed styling, art hanging, and final detailing
Collaborate with movers and team members to ensure precise and safe furniture placement
Maintain a professional presence when interacting with homeowners and real estate agents
Additional Responsibilities / Growth Opportunities:
Take lead on smaller installs as experience and trust are established
Assist with inventory organization and warehouse merchandising
Contribute creative input during staging prep and design planning
Basic Qualifications:
Professional Home Staging Certification or Interior Design Degree (required)
Strong eye for scale, proportion, and color
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working under real estate deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
Prior staging, interior design, or visual merchandising experience
Compensation Structure:
Independent Contractor (1099)
Paid per project
Flexible scheduling based on staging calendar
