Lakeside @ Our Place Schools Ltd is a residential facility for children with severe learning difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Condition, medical and behavioral needs. Working in a beautiful rural setting just 5 minutes from Malvern and close to the A44. We have free parking on site.

The assistant manager will be accountable for supporting the registered manager in the day to day delivery of service at our children supported living facility in Bransford.

As assistant to the registered manager you will be expected to support the registered manager with the following:

- Delivering a person centred approach

- Decision making on suitable admissions to the facility ensuring that all admissions are in accordance with the Statement of Purpose of the facility and take into consideration the needs of the other people in placement.

- To take responsibility for daily care practice and ongoing care planning, ensuring that other professionals are aware of and meeting the requirements of the relevant acts governing the facility.

- Effectively managing budgets

- To take responsibility for advising on and developing policies, procedures and operational systems to reflect the aims and objectives of the facility and the residential service.

- Day to day management of a team of support workers, including staff allocation and rota’s

- Responsibility for the recruitment and induction of all staff within the facility.

- Take full responsibility of the residential facility in the absence of the registered manager

- Management of medication

- Safeguarding of the children

Ideally we’re looking for you to have:

- Minimum Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care and be working towards (or willing to) a Level 5

- Leadership and Management qualification

- Experience of supporting the management of a similar service

- Accountability of operating a service within budget

- Experience of working in an SEN setting

- Knowledge of Autistic Spectrum Condition, plus other learning disabilities

- Previous experience in improving a Ofsted rating is desirable
