Job Description
Examine food stuffs to ensure freshness and quality standards are maintained.
Operate and regulate ovens, stoves and other cooking equipment at appropriate temperatures.
Season food during cooking to achieve authentic taste and flavour.
Portion dishes and add gravies, sauces and garnishes for presentation.
Store food safely in temperature-controlled facilities.
Prepare meals to meet specific dietary requirements when necessary.
Maintain appropriate stock levels to ensure continuous kitchen operations.
Plan menu and estimate food requirements to enhance menu requirements.
Recruit, train and supervise kitchen staff ensuring efficient workflow and teamwork to meet restaurant and kitchen standards.
Adhere to hygiene and safety regulations in line with New Zealand health and safety guidelines.
Qualification, Experience, and Attributes Required:
At least 4 years work experience and minimum level 7 qualification.
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays as required.
Availability to work late nights.
Ability to multitask and strong team player.
