DealShare has raised series C funding of USD 21 million with key investors like WestBridge Capital, Falcon Edge Capital, Matrix Partners India, Omidyar Network, Z3 Partners and Partners of DST Global and has total funding of USD 34 million DealShare has 2 million customers across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Delhi NCR with monthly transactions of 1.2 million and an annual GMV of $100 million.
Our aim is to expand operations to 100 cities across India and reach an annual GMV of USD 500 Million by end of 2021.Dealshare started in Sept 2018 and had 5000 active customers in the first three months.
Today we have 25K transactions per day, 1 Lakh DAU and 10 Lakh MAU with a monthly GMV of INR 100 Crores and 50% growth MoM.
We aim to hit 2 Lakh transactions per day with an annual GMV of USD 500 Million by 2021.
About the role -
We are looking for a top-of-class corporate/in-house counsel as we scale rapidly.
This person will help us negotiate customer contracts, structure partnership agreements with our channel partners, figure out our IP strategy, and help us build our partnership ecosystem.
The perfect fit is someone with exceptional drive and business/commercial savvy.
Expertise:
This role will be contributing to leasing activities, all kinds of contract drafting, vetting, management and repository, IP-related matters, license requirements in a retail business, and dispute/litigation management.
• Experience in Retail FDI, foreign exchange management related work will be a plus
• Good understanding of laws around employment contract and contract labor
• Overviewing and ownership of contract lifecycle, Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority, etc.), creating relations of trust, Draft and solidify agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights
• Contribute in dispute/litigation management, collaborate with management to devise efficient defense strategies
• Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (labor law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance, etc.)
• Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance
• Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
• Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues
• Advising the rest of the organization on legal matters associated with the commercial Operations on need basis
• Actively participate in risk mitigation and identifying legal issues, providing analysis of legal risks and creating and implementing solutions structured to achieve business objectives
Skills required:
• Experience as inhouse counsel or a leading law firm (Candidates with background from ecommerce or retail industry would be preferred)
• Must have the ability to organize and should be able to perform and deliver in tight deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication
