Job Description
If this sounds like you, we have an exciting opening for an Assistant Product Developer to join our own-brand equipment and hardgoods team. You will help research, design, and source product ranges, developing them from initial concept through to final sign-off. This is a role with real potential to shape new growth areas for our brands and make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development: Support the development of our own-brand hardware and equipment, meeting key business criteria for price, margin, quality, and delivery.
Project Management: Take ownership of multiple product projects, owning the development process from range selection and supplier negotiation, through to pre-production sign-off and photoshoots.
Market Research: Conduct and assist with market and competitor research to inform product design, brand positioning, and range plans.
Supplier Relations: Source, negotiate with, and manage relationships with suppliers and factories, ensuring they adhere to our standards. Attend trade shows as required.
Quality Assurance: Meticulously measure and check samples at each stage, conducting trials and user testing to ensure products meet exact specifications and quality standards. Arrange product certification where required.
Product Launch: Develop product packaging, user manuals, and size guides. Assist with photoshoots and collaborate with merchandising to create accurate and compelling product descriptions.

You possess strong organisational and time-management skills, able to manage and progress multiple projects at the same time
You are a flexible team player, ready to adapt and contribute within a small, fast-paced team.
Bonus Points (Nice to have, but not essential):
Previous experience in a product-related role, particularly in the sports industry.
Design skills, with proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Experience working with, and sourcing from, international suppliers.
An active interest in a variety of sports would be beneficial - equestrian, racket sports, watersports, swimming/triathlon, for example.
