The Langham, London; Europe’s first Grand Hotel and Forbes 5 rated property, is currently recruiting for Assistant Security / Safety Manager (maternity cover) to join our talented Security department.We are looking for a true hospitality professional, with the flair to deliver service at the highest level.
In the role of Assistant Security / Safety Manager, your key focus will be to:
• carry out / ensure investigations are completed (relating to security, loss prevention, safety, criminal and civil matters)
• be involved in reporting and investigation of health and food safety related incidents, and recommendation and monitoring of matters arising from these
• deliver training sessions to hotel colleagues relating to security, health and safety, food hygiene and environmental issues, or as reasonably required
• manage the team eg provide timely feedback, appraisals, performance management, recruitment activities, roster, updating of time and attendance system, coaching, support and mentoring
• ensure effective control of issuing of staff lockers and locker keys and maintaining of updated logs.
• liaise with police, security organisations and institutes and security managers of other hotels and neighbouring businesses to ensure that employees in the hotel are fully aware of the security issues that affect them and the guests and maintain vigilance. This includes attending of meetings, including IHSM, and distribution of security circulations in a prompt manner
• assist with VIP visits or special events and liaise with personal security and close protection officers and police where appropriate and make additional security arrangements when required, including extra security staff
Do you have? -
• previous experience of working in a similar or a supervisory role within hotels/hospitality industry
• great managerial and leadership skills with a proven track record ofcoaching, mentoring and motivating staff
• strong investigation and problem solving skills
• good organisation skills, administratively strong and ability to prioritise and multi-task
• ability to handle stressful and challenging situations
• First Aid, Personal Licencing, Health and Safety or Food Safety (Level 2 or 3), Teaching or Training qualifications are preferable
