Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent Construction to join our team and drive the successful execution of large-scale construction projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure and building projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Duties
Assist the Superintendent in overseeing daily construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams to facilitate smooth workflow and timely delivery of materials and services.
Monitor construction progress using project management software such as Primavera P6 and Construction management tools like ProCore and Bluebeam.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to verify work aligns with design specifications.
Conduct regular site inspections to enforce OSHA safety standards, quality control measures, and compliance with contractual obligations.
Manage project documentation including daily reports, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and safety logs.
Support project scheduling efforts by updating timelines using Primavera or Primavera P6 software; identify potential delays early.
Assist in managing project budgets through accurate tracking of costs related to labor, materials, and equipment using HeavyBid or similar estimating tools.
Supervise construction teams by providing clear direction, mentoring staff, and ensuring productivity on-site.
Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, regulations, and client specifications while maintaining a focus on safety and quality.
Experience
Proven experience in construction management with a strong background in supervising large-scale projects from inception to completion.
Extensive knowledge of construction site operations including safety procedures (OSHA standards), blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and quality assurance practices.
Demonstrated proficiency with construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Primavera, HeavyBid or equivalent tools.
Hands-on experience with project scheduling techniques and managing project timelines effectively.
Strong understanding of contracts management, budgeting processes, and construction estimating methods.
Supervising experience leading diverse teams of tradespeople and subcontractors in fast-paced environments.
Familiarity with pipeline projects or heavy civil construction is a plus but not required.
Ability to operate testing equipment such as ohmmeters for electrical inspections when necessary.
