Functional Responsibilities
• To monitor and manage litigations and take them to logical conclusions.
• Handling of drafting of all pleading including drafting of suits, petitions, writ petitions and appeals.
• Appearing before quasi-judicial bodies, government officials, police authorities, etc.
• Issue notices and replies as per the requirement of the business.
• Drafting and vetting of documents.
• Handling of litigations under arbitration , SARFAESI , IBC, Criminal proceedings , 138 proceedings , DRT, etc. arising out the course of business of the Company.
• Briefing of Advocates.
Responsibilities
• Implement approved departmental policies, processes, procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
• Create, modify and draft letters, meeting minutes, memos, charts, tables, graphs and other correspondence to support with the documentation and presentation of findings and facts required by the team to undertake the litigation and investigations activities
• Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the Legal unit in the region to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures
• Managing Stressed Asset and ensuing quick recovery through legal proceedings.
• Help maintain the costs of functioning as a group within the approved budget
• Maintaining and developing legal MIS by furnishing the details of the legal intervention taken and the matters defended
• Help develop and update the legal manuals and procedures
• Carry out research of records and legal precedent so that all required data and information is available in timely and easy to use manner
• Follow up on changes in legislation and other developments in the legal and to remain updated and communicate the same to more senior members within the function
• Review relevant legal journals and court circulars on a frequent basis to bring to the attention of more senior colleagues any information or newly drafted regulations of which they need to be aware
• Recommend improvements to processes and policies across the business to drive operational efficiencies and high quality customer service
• Keep abreast with global legal trends and competitor strategies in key markets
