Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.
Job Purpose
A team member of the DBS Australia Branch Operation team and responsible for day-to-day settlement functions and control of the associated operational risks to support the business / branch.
Key Accountabilities
To ensure completion of payment and settlement transactions without error and in accordance with the agreed SLA
To monitor risks and controls of the transactions in accordance with Group processes, policies and country regulations
Preparation of monthly reports and matrix to monitor performance of transactions
To adhere to risk and compliance protocol of Group processes, policies and country regulations
Job Duties and Responsibilities
A team player in the Branch T&O to ensure timely processing & monitoring of Payments and GFM products such as Money Markets, Fixed Income, Bonds/Repos, FX, Derivatives.
Liaising with customers / counterparties in relations to Payments and GFM products to ensure timely & accurate settlement of all transactions, monitoring of cash sheet, and following up on any outstanding items.
Provide support to the Global Financial Market dealers and IBG Relationship Managers relating to payments and GFM products.
AUSTRAC International Funds Transfer Instruction (IFTI) reporting.
Ensure remediation of back logs, if any.
Complete and adhere to checklists to ensure transactions are executed properly and timely.
Execute procedures and controls required by the bank to comply with laws, regulations and policies.
Ensure ‘DCFC’ Departmental Control Function Checklist, daily and monthly items are completed.
Work with various departments or HO to complete projects and HO initiatives that improve the Branch process and systems.
Escalate exceptions to the attention of senior staff within Operations, follow through to ensure that proper actions are taken.
Preparation of key daily / monthly reconciliations in a timely manner.
Any other responsibilities that may be assigned by Management from time to time.
Experience
Strong knowledge in Payments (Swift, RTGS, BECS, BPay, etc.) and GFM products (e.g. Money Markets, Fixed Income, Bonds/Repos, NCD).
Knowledge in Derivatives, Options, Commodities, Futures, would be advantageous.
Strong knowledge of SWIFT (including ISO) / RITS / Austraclear / Murex systems.
Good understanding of operational policies, processes and controls.
AML / CTF and sanction monitoring and IFTI reporting.
Strong verbal and written presentation skills, along with project management skills.
Team player with attention to detail and a growth mindset.
Confident in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills.
