In fact, data lies at the very core of our business! As a Database Engineer you would support, handle & maintain databases that serve and accelerate successful business across our Travel Products. You will demonstrate Database Tech Stack to understand, anticipate and meet the needs of our Product Teams with a constant Cloud First Approach to achieve customer experience excellence.In this role you will get to:Improve your DB Administration skills for MySQL (primarily) with Oracle, PostgreSql in areas configuration/replication/backup on Linux platform.Develop expertise on MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSql database performance and SQL tuning.Improve automation skills with the use of shell/python scripts and/or ansible.Migrate & Support Databases on Google Cloud Platform thereby improve & grow skills on cloud concepts.Demonstrate your expertise, ability to learn quickly, acquire capabilities to empower the team with DB best methods as a standard.Partner with the Product Team to plan, coordinate & implement DB Tasks for customer happiness.Who you are: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology, or related industry or equivalent training and experience.3-5 years of validated work experience in MySQL Database Administration, preferably 5.7 & above db version.Fluent with database replication, backup/recovery, database security, fix issues & performance tuning concepts.Fluent in Linux environment, shell scripting/python programming.Hands-on expertise with ansible, preferredOracle and/or PostgreSql Database Administration hands-on expertise, Preferred.hands-on experience & exposure with any public cloud provider, GCP preferred.Work independently under general guidance & empower the team with the best methods and standards.Proactively collaborate to learn, grow and excel to handle critical DB tasks independently.Comfortable for 24x7 support on P1 DB Issues as part of On-Call Rotation.Good to have DB and related certifications.The Right Results, the Right Way is not just a motto at Priceline; it’s a way of life.
