Play a key role in supporting Corporate & Institutional Banking - Markets in driving first line risk management to ensure we are a safe and secure bank that get it right for our customers first time.

Utilise your expertise in risk, controls, and obligations management to identify and minimise all forms of risk to protect our customers.

Each day, you will prioritise exceptional customer service by Showcasing your passion for providing pivotal Divisional Controls support to the business.


In this Associate Director Divisional Controls role reporting into the Head of Divisional Controls C&IB Markets, each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:

Provide advice and guidance on risk, control, and obligation items, including subject matter input for; business changes, event management, escalating operational risk, compliance events, systemic issues, or breakdowns in the control environment.

Identification of control gaps and weaknesses, looking for opportunities for making controls both automated and preventative rather than detective.

Identification of risks and appropriate indicators to monitor trends and manage risk in the Business.

Coach the Business to implement PACE process and controls mapping.

Advise on control self-assessments for the Business to ensure business owners are aware of and understand the operation of all controls within their responsibility.

Manage activities to help the Business ensure core metrics are within threshold.

Work with Controls Performance and Internal Audit teams to ensure testing of controls is planned and performed effectively.


We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:

Demonstrated experience in risk management and compliance disciplines and/or experience in Global Markets will be highly regarded.

Previous experience in CIB Business with expertise in risk and control, to provide guidance and assurance to business stakeholders, highly regarded.

Excellent communication and stakeholders’ management skills.

Excellent time management with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.

Excellent research and analytical skills with strong attention to detail with the ability to identify matters that require further analysis and investigation.
