Job description
Head of Finance Location: Delhi | Reporting to: Founder & CEO
About the Company
We are a fast-scaling, founder-led consumer technology company redefining how Indian consumers discover, engage with, and transact in our category. Recently having closed our Series B, we are at an exciting inflection point — building out the infrastructure and leadership team to sustain our next phase of aggressive growth. Our culture is high-ownership, low-ego, and deeply execution-oriented.
The Role
We are looking for a seasoned finance leader to own and run the entire finance function end-to-end. This is not a role for someone who manages from a distance — we need someone who is genuinely hands-on, commercially sharp, and capable of being a true thought partner to the Founder. The right person will bring structure without bureaucracy, foresight without overcaution, and the ability to anticipate problems before they surface.
You will be the company's financial conscience — plugging gaps, tightening controls, building investor confidence, and ensuring that as the business scales, the finance function scales with it.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis: Own budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning. Build robust MIS and reporting frameworks that give leadership real-time visibility and drive sharp monthly and quarterly reviews.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Maintain tight oversight of working capital, liquidity, and cash runway. Manage banking relationships and credit lines, and flag risks to the runway early.
Fundraising & Capital Markets Support: Be the finance lead on future capital raise processes. Own financial modelling, data room preparation, due diligence management, and post-term-sheet execution in close partnership with the Founder.
Investor Relations & Reporting: Manage all ongoing investor communications — board packs, investor updates, covenant tracking, and shareholder reporting. Build credibility through transparency, accuracy, and proactive engagement.
Controllership & Financial Controls: Establish and maintain a strong internal controls environment. Ensure accurate books, clean audits, and reliable financial statements — and close gaps before they surface.
Statutory, Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance across direct tax, GST, transfer pricing, ROC filings, and all applicable regulatory requirements. Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel.
Unit Economics & Business Partnership: Partner with product, growth, and operations teams to track and improve unit economics. Help business leaders understand the financial implications of their decisions and build financial accountability across the organisation.
Team Building & Leadership: Hire, develop, and lead the finance team. Build capability at every level and ensure the function scales in line with the business.
Pricing, Commercial Finance & Vendor Management: Support key commercial decisions — pricing, partnerships, and major contracts — with rigorous financial analysis. Ensure vendor terms and liabilities are well understood and managed.
Systems & Process Infrastructure: Own the finance tech stack and drive automation and process improvement to improve accuracy and reduce manual effort as the business scales.
What We're Looking For
12–15 years of progressive finance experience, with meaningful time spent in consumer technology or a closely adjacent high-growth digital business — this is non-negotiable. CA qualification strongly preferred. Proven track record of managing the full finance function, not just a vertical within it. Experience working directly with founders or senior leadership in a post-Series B, fast-moving environment. Strong investor-facing skills — comfortable presenting to and managing sophisticated institutional investors. Hands-on by instinct, not just by necessity. Someone who doesn't wait to be asked.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a role for someone seeking a large team to delegate everything to, a highly structured MNC environment, or a purely c
