The Associate, Business Finance job supervises para-professionals in the Financial Planning & Analysis business unit who are responsible for business analysis, financial record-keeping, modeling and forecasting to help drive the strategic direction of the business unit. This job sets day-to-day operational objectives for the team while ensuring policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by all direct reports. This job also reviews financial results of the organization to analyze business unit financial results versus budget/forecasts.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Supervises the preparation of reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present and expected operations.
• Ensures the accounting policies and practices of the organization are followed by business unit team members.
• Oversees forecasts and modeling to ensure results are timely and accurate.
• Approves re-forecasting activities and updating/evolving forecast models.
• Produces accurate and timely financial reports, for internal and external use, in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
• Works closely with internal auditors, public accountants, federal tax examiners, and other financial professionals ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.
• Manages the performance of business unit team members through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional business unit services and to foster team member engagement, motivation and development.
Educational Requirements
• No Advanced Degree Required Preferred
Work Experience
• 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred
