Job Description
GCIB Credit is a front office unit that works closely with origination functions such as Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Global Markets, and Global Transaction Services to identify opportunities and deliver credit product solutions to customers. Credit is specifically responsible for the credit analysis and execution of transactions as well as the subsequent monitoring and management of portfolio quality and exposures.
Officer will be a member of the GCIB Credit team in India. Key responsibilities will be as under:
- Work with Credit Officers to cover the large and important Corporate and FI client relationships from a credit perspective and keep track of the assigned portfolio.
- Maintain regular dialogue with selected clients when required for appropriate/ timely credit underwriting decision and monitoring of credit quality of clients
- Maintain close working relationships with business & control partners to handle appropriate financial solutions for clients. Ensure early pre-screening of significant transactions, and review marketing plans for new clients to maintain sound client selection process
- Be an active member of deal teams and contribute to the success of these teams by providing inputs in risk-acceptable alternatives
- Execution and negotiation of documentation of loan transactions with clients as well as working with internal and external legal counsel
- Liaise with Credit Risk and obtain requisite risk approvals per approval grid on new limits/limit renewals.
- Guide junior members of the team
- Work closely with other senior team members on resolution of regulatory matters including interfacing with regulators.
- Work on ad hoc special projects and assignments as needed, both in-country and regionally
• Requirements:
- Min 3-5 years banking experience, preferably in Credit / Risk
- Good credit underwriting skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Pro-active & positive nature, problem solving skills, and results-oriented approach
- Ability to build relationships across locations and be a team player
- Documentation experience (loans and ISDA) will be preferred
- Willingness and ability to express opinions and propose credit decisions
