Senior Software Developer
The Senior Software Developer focuses on developing multiple types and categories of software including end-user applications and operating systems software that provides a platform for running end user applications. While working independently with limited supervision, this job applies up-to-date information on the detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Conducts requirements gathering and analysis to understand the domain of the software problem and/or functionality, the interfaces between hardware and software, and the overall software characteristics.
• Uses programming, scripting, and/or database languages to write software code.
• Consults with systems engineers and architects on developing information technology (IT) standards for the business while facilitating the translation of client requirements into technical designs for large IT solutions.
• Models key business processes and critical paths while assessing the impact of technology on business processes.
• Supports software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolves activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding software enhancements
• Maintains records for the documentation of systems development and revisions.
• Reviews the work of lower level professionals.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Collaborate with IT and Business partners to design, develop, and troubleshoot end to end technical solutions
• Develop high-quality software components of the global trading platform
• Test the resulting components in accordance with company standards and as defined in approved testing plans
• Investigate, analyze and document reported defects – raising issues as appropriate
• Analyze production applications and debug errors upon failures
• Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects
• Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates that meet SDLC standards
Required Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline
• 6-10 years experience in Java and its related technologies
• Ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively at all organizational levels with written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Familiar with Agile development methodologies
• Self-directed, self-starter, and motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Understanding and experience in cloud native teachnologies using AWS.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience and knowledge of Equity/Fixed income/Munis products and instruments including FIX protocol and market data content.
• Prior experience in any Investment Management System like BBG AIM/ CRD is preferred.
• Knowledge of market structure, order handling, and electronic trading
• Excellent communication ( written and oral), with senior leaders and peers, facilitation, interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Ability to perform tasks of high complexity and to modify processes, plans and designs as needed
• Experience building large integrated enterprise applications
