Job Description
Our client is now in the market for a mid-level Securities & Capital Markets Associate to join their national team of experts in their Calgary office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a collegial team and hone your skills in a broad range of corporate transactions, securities and corporate matters.
The successful candidate will have the following:
• 3 to 7 years of post call corporate securities law practice experience with an emphasis on capital markets and M&A from a national or reputable regional law firm
• Experience acting for issuers, underwriters and selling shareholders in domestic and cross-border public offerings and private placement of debt, equity and structured finance products
• Experience working with corporations, investment banks, and financial institutions in negotiated and contested mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests, independent committee engagements and defence preparations
• Experience dealing with corporate governance matters, disclosure issues, equity and debt trading strategies, as well as regulatory compliance matters
• Above average academics
• Superior communication, drafting skills and strong attention to detail
• Client orientated
• A law degree and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
