Overview
• RRSD Unit faces the Group Risk Function with a peripheral support to CEO CIB Function. It handles wide spectrum of activities to support the Enterprise Risk Analytics, Traded Risk Management, Risk & Compliance Reporting teams of the Group Risk. The unit is also currently expanding itself to support the CEO CIB Office with Credit Portfolio Management.
• This opening involves a reporting role within the below areas
Traded Risk Management:
Credit Risk Reporting (CRR)
The Team prepares Country and Regional Risk Information Report i.e. Management Packs on a monthly basis. Approximately around 160 packs covering the Booking Location, Management Location and Country of Credit Responsibility location are shared with respective country and regions. The team is also responsible to generate Risk MI that is used to measure and monitor significant financial institution exposures and develop network analysis to show the matrix of interconnectedness amongst firms in the financial network and it seeks to identify exposure concentrations to sectors, markets, assets and risk factors.
Finrep (Financial Reporting) is a suit of regulatory reports required by PRA. While Finrep reporting is owned by Finance, a couple of modules of this report require the submission of Past Due and Forbearance data which are managed by Risk. This is a quarterly reporting process in which the required Risk data is collated and provided to the Finrep team for preparation of the regulatory report.
STDF - The PRA has developed STDF to provide quantitative assessments of the capital adequacy of the UK banking system and individual institutions. UK banks are therefore required to perform stress tests to understand the impact of a series of shocks on their capital positions and must submit detailed reports on results to the regulator. Hence the team prepares the STDF report
IIC (IFRS+ Impairment Committee) - A dedicated committee to review and approve ECL for financial assets classified as stages 1, 2 and 3 (modelled ECL only) in every business segment for each financial reporting period, based on the support of the individual business CROs and Treasurer. The Committee also responsible to review and approve stage allocation rules and thresholds, as well as approach to base macroeconomic forecasts and multiple macro-economic scenarios used for the forward-looking ECL computation. The team prepares IFRS+ related MFU adjustments, reports and MIS facilitating decision making.
Group Country Risk Reporting
Group Country Risk is a global team based in London and Singapore with country coverage split regionally, now expanding to Chennai. Key tasks are to:
• Set framework and policy for accessing risk by country
• Review and monitor exposure limits by country, for cross border, domestic and intragroup risk
• Maintain sovereign ratings for countries with cross border exposures
• Monitor cross border transactions over certain tenor/amount
Strategy
• Help to ensure appropriate BAU controls being established and deployed effectively in GBS.
• Help to support new Business requests through Product programmes and Country addendums
• Help to look for possibilities of leveraging on synergy within the various processes through automation thereby bringing in improvements.
Business
• Help the team to pursue the strategic intent and agenda for RCRCM
• Help to improve client experience through more efficient and effective processing in tandem with Risk, Client Coverage and Front Office user
