About
W Health Ventures is a Boston-based venture capital firm focused on helping build the future of healthcare delivery. Founded by serial technology entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist Sunil Wadhwani, W Health invests in and incubates early-stage companies that address critical unmet healthcare needs leveraging technology and AI in the US and India.
W Health has set up India’s first Venture Studio called 2070 Health - an innovation platform that builds transformative healthcare companies from scratch by discovering disruptive opportunities in healthcare. Distinct from the venture capital and accelerator approach, our venture studio will be closely involved in idea generation, day-to-day operations, and strategic decisions of growing the new business.
Details:
Position: Associate, New Ventures
Experience: > 5 Years
Location: Mumbai/ Bangalore/ Delhi
Responsibilities:
1. Opportunity assessment and ideation
Explore and analyze markets and trends in health tech to identify areas ripe for disruption
Identify and network with start-up ecosystems and experts in the healthcare/ health-tech domain
Help develop innovative business plans to fill key gaps in the health-tech space
Validate a well-formed thesis through user (patient, doctor) interviews, digital marketing experiments, and literature review
2. Validation and launch
Support financial analysis and modeling to evaluate business viability and sustainability
Work on Investment Committee pitch decks for identified opportunities and present at IC meetings
Liaison with clinical and product teams to devise pilot experiments, product strategy, and roadmap
Liaison with product and marketing team to define success metrics and tracking
Launch pilot experiments with clear stage gates for funding.
3. Operationalization and repeatability
Provide ongoing strategic support, including the development of strategic and operational KPIs
Identify best practices for idea validation, launch and financing from other global venture studios
Design playbook for repeatability in identifying, building, and scaling ventures
Requirements
You have experience in a 0-1 startup, or strategic operations role & have managed a team
You have strong analytical skills and critical thinking (we will be doing a lot of ideation and brainstorming)
You have strong communication skills (we will be speaking with experts, senior leaders, and users everyday)
You are comfortable with ambiguity, work by first principles, and have exceptional problem-solving skills
You have a self-driven, can-do attitude and willing to take initiative & iterate.
You have knowledge or interest in digital health (preferred, but not required)
You have comfort working with cross-functional team and have been a part of growth teams
You understand how a startup works and have a fail fast mentality
