Job Description: Associate Paralegal
The role of a Paralegal comprises a variety of tasks to be completed in a timely and efficient manner.
You duties will include:
- Drafting Landlord and Tenant Board Notices
- Filing Landlord and Tenant Applications
- Preparing Files for Hearings
- Communicating with Clients and providing legal advice
- Reviewing and assessing documents received from various parties
- Processing administrative documents (filing, copying, reviewing etc.)
- Managing and updating various client and organizational spreadsheets
- Communications with representatives, unrepresented parties and court staff
- Occasional attendances Landlord and Tenant matters should we need it
Qualifications:
· Licensed Paralegal - Licensed by the Law Society in good standing with the Law Society
Experience:
Landlord and Tenant Board Experience (Requirement)
Field Placement plus at least one year in a legal firm (an asset, but not a requirement)
Education:
Degree in Paralegal Studies or a Bachelor’s Degree and a Diploma in Paralegal Studies.
Skills:
Work independently and able to self-manage
Strong communication and writing skills
Strong organizational skills
Experience with file organization and document management systems
Proficiency in legal drafting and research techniques
Ability to work as a team and assist where needed
Ability to prioritise workload effectively
