Job Description
Corporate and Investment Banking provides corporate customers with a full range of commercial banking products and services, including cash management services, current accounts, time deposits, trade finance, working capital finance, term loans and foreign exchange.
Job Purpose
Develop a well-diversified portfolio within the SME segment generating income from multiple sources, including assets, trade finance, cash management, treasury services, and fees.
The portfolio should deliver healthy income while maintaining an acceptable level of risk for the bank while ensuring to comply with the bank's established lending guidelines.
Key Accountabilities
New Client Acquisition: Identify and acquire new-to-bank corporate clients within the SME segment (INR 200-600 crore turnover range), adhering to bank lending policies.
Revenue Generation & Cross-Selling: Maximize Net Interest Income (NII) and fees across the portfolio through proactive cross-selling of products and services (trade, liabilities, cash management, treasury, fees, etc.).
Profitability Enhancement: Contribute significantly to the overall profitability of the SME business unit.
Portfolio Risk Management: Maintain a healthy portfolio with zero delinquencies through effective monitoring and risk mitigation strategies.
Strategic Implementation & Market Share Growth: Implement and execute the SME business strategy, focusing on market share expansion, achieving top-line and bottom-line targets, portfolio diversification, and concentration risk reduction.
Brand Building & Networking: Elevate DBS's brand presence and expand network through marketing initiatives, collaborations, and industry events.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Proactive Cross-Selling: Actively cross-sell liability, trade, cash management, and treasury products.
Revenue Target Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed individual revenue targets across all product lines.
Thorough Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive due diligence on all new SME clients prior on-boarding.
Strategic Account Planning: Develop detailed account plans for each client, outlining revenue potential, associated risks, and mitigation strategies.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintaining strict adherence to all KYC/AML regulations.
Risk Reporting: Proactively identify and report material information regarding business opportunities, industry risks, and client risks to senior management.
Reporting & Data Management: Providing accurate and timely MIS reports to the central team and complying adhering to all reporting guidelines.
Policy Adherence: Maintain strict compliance with all bank policies and procedures.
Market Intelligence & Networking: Actively engage with local business stakeholders (clients, industry leaders, CAs, influencers, industry associations) to gather market intelligence and build relationships.
Required Experience
3-7 years of proven success in sales, with a strong emphasis on 2-3 years of experience specifically within SME/Business Banking lending.
Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets in the SME/Business Banking asset lending segment.
Comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape and market dynamics within the SME sector.
Understand the SME customer preferences, needs, and requirements.,
