Associate - Investment Banking Advisory
The opportunity
EY is looking for a suitable member for our team in Investment banking practice.
The Associate role provides an opportunity to be part of the team that offers transaction-related tactical and strategic advice to help clients assess and optimize their capital structure and funding sources or execute M&A transactions.
About Investment Banking Advisory
EY Investment Banking Advisory encompasses a wide range of services:
• Mergers and Acquisitions: Advice on a sale or purchase of a business or an asset for private or public sector clients. This includes planning, preparation for and support in executing M&A transactions.
• Capital and
Debt Advisory:
Advice on equity and debt capital raise, structuring and optimization of capital structure and credit ratings advisory.
• Infrastructure Advisory: Advice clients on financial, procurement, strategic and publicprivate partnership issues for largescale infrastructure projects, providing support from project evaluation to procurement, financial close, construction and operations. We also help governments strategically manage capital and transactions, asset sales, and divestments.
Your key responsibilities
• Understand client issues
• Research skills and building comparable valuation multiples
• Ability to build an understanding of an industry
• Provide support to the team in executing M&A and Private Equity fund raise transactions
• Support on marketing pitches for M&A transactions
• Independent charge of financial modeling
• Prepare deliverables for engagements
• Risk Management Having awareness of Firms QRM policies and adhering to the same
• Risk Management Having awareness of Firms QRM policies and adhering to the same
Skills and attributes for success
• Have exposure to M&A
• Strong Financial modeling skills
• High team orientation
• Ability to Multitasks
• Research oriented mindset
• Should have an eye for detail
• Good communication both written and oral (including report writing)
• Ability to flex individual styles and work back with diverse teams
• Analytical skills
• Should be well conversant with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Significant amount of initiative, selfdriven
• Investment banks
• KPO's, specifically those in the Investment Banking
• Strategy teams of large corporates focus
• Private equity / venture capital firms
To qualify for the role, you must have
• MBA (from a premier institute) with a good academic background
• Prequalification experience is preferred.
Ideally, you'll also have
• Strong communication, facilitation, relationshipbuilding, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Be highly flexible, adaptable, and creative.
• Comfortable interacting with senior executives (within the firm and at the client)
• Strong leadership skills and supervisory responsibility.
