Job Description

A senior role within a specialist Serious Injury practice

Minster Law is a personal injury law firm with an established and expanding Serious Injury practice operating across England and Wales, acting exclusively for claimants in complex, high-value cases. Our business is known for its technical depth, disciplined approach to case strategy and sustained focus on long-term client outcomes.

This Associate role is intended for experienced Serious Injury lawyers operating at a senior level who are looking to practise within a business structured to support high-quality Serious Injury work. Caseloads are structured to allow sustained senior focus on complex claims, ensuring sufficient time and autonomy to work effectively with clients, families, and specialist teams over the life of the claim.

Our practice operates to a well-established multi-disciplinary model, integrating legal expertise with rehabilitation planning and wider clinical and professional input to support the effective management of complex Serious Injury claims. Associates are trusted to lead case strategy throughout the lifecycle of the claim, exercising professional judgement within a collaborative environment.

The opportunity

As an Associate in our Serious Injury team, you will:
• Lead a portfolio of complex Serious Injury claims, predominantly RTA-based, typically valued between £150k and multi-million-pound outcomes.
• Take responsibility for case strategy throughout the lifecycle of the claim, including liability, quantum, rehabilitation planning and settlement.
• Work closely with medical experts, case managers, counsel, care experts, architects and financial professionals to deliver coordinated, evidence-led solutions.
• Secure early interim payments and rehabilitation funding where appropriate to support client recovery and stability.
• Provide guidance, oversight and mentoring to junior colleagues, ensuring appropriate delegation to and supervision of the Assistant Fee Earner and Paralegal

Essential experience and qualifications

To ensure the appropriate level of expertise, applicants must demonstrate:
• Qualification as a Solicitor or CILEX Fellow with sufficient experience to achieve Grade A charging rates (8 years) or others with equivalent experience (typically 14 years).
• A proven track record as lead file handler on Serious Injury matters involving complex liability and quantum.
• Strong litigation capability and sound working knowledge of court procedures.
• A consistent record of high-quality client care.
• Experience supporting, mentoring or developing junior colleagues.
• The professional credibility to represent the firm externally within the Serious Injury sector.

Reward & Life at Minster Law
• £60,000 - £90,000 per annum, aligned with experience and seniority.
• Life Assurance – Peace of mind for you and your family, providing financial support in the event of the unexpected.
• Income Protection – Financial security if you’re unable to work due to illness or injury, helping to protect your income when you need it most.
• Trade Away – Take control of your work–life balance with the option to buy additional annual leave or sell unused leave to boost your earnings.

• Engagement with relevant professional bodies or charities (e.g. APIL, Headway, SIA).
