Job Title: Associate Software Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Reports to: Manager, Software Engineering

A quick snapshot…

As an Associate Software Engineer, you’ll be working on developing robust solutions across platform services. As a critical member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our design, development, and continued enhancement of our features along with writing unit & integration tests to ensure features never break.

This is one of the critical roles under the Platform team within Engineering. You will possess deep technical expertise as a frontend engineer and a strong commitment to delivering innovative and effective solutions. This role works on multiple technologies and databases to make sure the product development moves towards rapid development, rich controls, more scalable, and better security.

Are you the person we’re looking for?

Related Experience. You should have at least 1 year of experience in the software industry as a Frontend Engineer and the technical requirements necessary to design, develop, test and implement solutions.

Technical Skills. You’re likely to have proficiency in Frontend development technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, JS Frameworks (Angular, react etc.), and CSS abstraction (Less, SASS etc.). Good in problem-solving and coding in any programming language. Understanding of Data Structure & Algorithm analysis and its usage in scalable software design. Good understanding of the web technology stack (HTTP, cookies, REST).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. You’re not just comfortable engaging in collaborative discussions, but initiating them, too. You are skilled at reading and adapting to different communication styles. When you speak you are clear and concise. Your strong listening skills foster connections with our clients and allow you to accurately collect the right information so you can resolve issues most expediently.

Education. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.

You’re not only proactive about completing your work, but when you sense the need to introduce a project that will benefit the team or the organization -- even if it’s outside your scope of work -- you put a proposal together, talk to the team about it, and own it. Expert relationship builder and customer service enthusiast. It’s important that you genuinely enjoy building relationships. It’s not enough to simply be nice to others and enjoy working with others –the right person will be truly interested in getting to know our clients and their business, in an effort to provide the highest level of service and support.

Exposure to mature SDLC practices. Understanding of Agile methodologies. Experience with unit testing, code coverage, and security scan tools. Proficient in working with source control tools like GitHub/Bitbucket.
