Who You Are
Play a key role in the design, development/configuration, unit testing, installation, and ongoing maintenance of Zinnia Linux hardware and software platforms. Solution Engineers work with stakeholders to develop solutions and/or products that fulfil the needs of internal stakeholders and clients. Those solutions and/or products help Zinnia and our clients to be more efficient and provide better service to end customers. Solution Engineers interact directly with project leaders, business stakeholders, and may periodically interact directly with clients. Solution Engineers will facilitate, lead, and enable more junior team members by acting as a mentor for soft skills and/or technical subject matter expert. Solution Engineers will frequently work across multiple platforms to drive, define, and facilitate platform architecture and standards. Solution Engineers stay abreast of industry trends and advocate, educate, and drive the organization to new technologies.
What You’ll Do
• Work as part of a global, cross-functional team to design and administer Linux based solutions for Zinnia stakeholders.
• Contribute to projects by creating well-designed, customized, testable, efficient solutions for Zinnia platforms.
• Assist in providing ongoing support, troubleshooting, improvements, or custom enhancements to the Linux existing Zinnia platforms.
• Participate in on-call rotations and/or provide after-hours (Night Shift) support.
• Collaborate with our global teams, internal stakeholders and customers.
• Provide guidance and escalated support to the Zinnia offshore Linux support team
• Conduct root-cause analysis as needed to the Linux platforms and create improved standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guidance
• Administer and support VMWare virtualization environments for Linux.
• Provide support on multiple Cloud Hosted environments using Cloud Technology.
What You’ll Need
• 1 to 3 years of experience in Managing middle-tier applications on hosted servers
• Familiar on Middleware application performance monitoring using SNMP, JMX and any other monitoring tool (IPM, Nagios).
• Familiar on Middleware technologies – Any of Wildfly/JBOSS, Tomcat, and Apache Web Server.
• Experience in Linux/Windows server administration in Datacenters
• Experience in VMWare ESXi administration
• Knowledge on handling any storage system
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities in Linux/Windows servers.
• Basic knowledge in Bash or Perl or Python script writing
• Basic knowledge in datacenter setup
Bonus Points
• Good to have working experience on enterprise-level applications/products.
• Experience working in the insurance industry is advantageous.
• Any certification (RHCSA, RHCE, AWS, Azure) would be advantage
