Job Description
Aangan works with children in dangerous situations like child trafficking, child marriage, hazardous work and abuse. Our prevention model targets "hotspot" districts across the country where children are most at risk - either because these are known red‐light areas, sites of hazardous child labour or are associated with harmful traditions like high rates of child marriage and girl child discrimination. Here we work with parents, children and government officials to build strong care and protection systems that keep children safe.
II. Position Summary
The individual will work closely with the Finance Head and will be responsible for the performance of a variety of duties categorized by either accounting, financial or administrative support.
This includes undertaking various aspects of financial management, including accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, preparing deposits, coding, totaling, entering, verifying and reconciling transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements. While providing administrative support with file management, correspondence drafting, funding program support, and ensuring assets in the head office and state offices are managed and maintained. Administrative duties also include developing and maintaining administrative systems and other duties, such as meeting minute taking, etc.
S/he will be a part of the National team, responsible for maintaining checks and balances for reimbursements and other financials, due diligence, registrations, etc.
III. Key Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Manage all accounting operations including Accounts Payable, General Ledger management, Income Recognition
· Coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements. Maintaining records and tracking spends made against the expenses
· Verifying reimbursements received from all state teams
· Orienting and ongoing support to new recruits and other team members on and attending to regular expense related queries
· After an initial verification, obtaining approvals on expenses from the relevant team leads/CXOs
· Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
· Manage and comply with government reporting requirements and tax filings
· Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
· Ensuring that invoices are received for the correct amounts on a monthly basis
· Maintaining minutes of Board meetings
· Following up with partners as part of due diligence procedures.
· Maintaining monthly records of expenses incurred by each state
· Providing support and assistance to the Finance Head and the Organisation during internal and external audits.
· Ensure all compliance records are authorized and processed in accordance with agreed procedures for both Aangan Trust and donors.
· Support the Finance Head with the accounting reporting process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of ledgers and all supporting documentation and compliance with finance and procurement regulations.
· Maintain accounting records, ensuring they are complete, accurate, well archived and safeguarded.
· Maintaining and updating programme documents for all states
· Handling expense and other related queries from teams, vendors, etc.
· Calculates, prepares and issues documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements
· Ensure all procurement processes are in compliance with Aangan and our donor regulations.
· Support logistics for Aangan’s programme activities.

V. Education and Experience
Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or Business or a CA
1 to 3 years work experience in a similar field
