About the role -
You will be providing implementation guidance to our onshore/offshore tech team, managing the build and be responsible for code quality. The Associate Tech Lead inspires a team of talented developers across new and agreed architectures, influencing system architecture and having input into our technology choices and execution of our overall system design.
• Working collaboratively with the developer teams, own the software development lifecycle from development to write, deploy and maintain business critical software features into production
• Design and build highly-resilient, high-performance, scalable and flexible systems.
• Review the technical landscape and gain an in-depth understanding of architecture, tech stack, deficiencies, technical debt, and opportunities.
• Ensure documentation of existing architecture, applications and processes are in place and maintained
• Able to effectively communicate ideas, designs and challenges to business stakeholders in concise and relatable terms
• Coordinate with other Tech Leads on best practice and ensuring all squads are aligned
• Experience working with Agile software development methodologies.
• Provide guidance/mentorship of engineers at all levels.
• Assist in recruiting and onboarding new engineers and build strong, values driven teams.
• Deep experience with PHP 7.x development using Laravel 5.7+

• You’re an engineer with 6+ years of experience dealing with complex problems at scale in B2B or SaaS
• You deal with complexity by collaborating with colleagues, listening to customers, testing ideas and continuously learning
• You’re a natural problem solver who believes in simple solutions (not easy solutions) and can accept consensus even when you may not agree
• You thrive on analysing problems, formulating solutions, and making those a reality.
• You have a passion for quality and know what best-in-class engineering looks like and want to help drive the journey
• You can communicate across all levels and are able to provide clarity to the team on the tasks and goals ahead
• You’re involved in the software engineering community. You enjoy attending meetups, conferences, have a blog or a GitHub portfolio.
• You enjoy being part of every stage in the Software Development Lifecycle. You can own the code from inception through to production.
