Your Opportunity:
This is an exciting leadership opportunity with the Community Audiology Service in the Calgary Zone. The successful incumbent will become a valued member of our team dedicated to providing quality diagnostic hearing health care to our clients and families of all ages. Our service provides standard audiologic screening and assessment, EHDI screening and advanced diagnostic assessment, vestibular assessment, adult CI and BAHD assessment, fitting and follow up. In collaboration with management, the Audiology Team Lead is responsible for the daily leadership and coordination of staff supporting service delivery and leading the Audiology team according to AHS values and program priorities within a multidisciplinary and multisite context. The Team Lead is responsible for mentoring, responding to clinical questions and coordinating ongoing skill development to deliver effective clinical services based on evidence and population need across the continuum of health. The Team Lead participates in, and implements quality improvement initiatives, program development, evaluation, and knowledge translation within the program. They are a key participant in zone and provincial initiatives. The Team Lead collaborates with discipline-specific Professional Practice Leads to implement supported and leading practices. This role aids the manager in selection, orientation, supervision, and evaluation of program staff. The Team Lead advises the manager on the operational decision-making, coordinates program orientation and professional development and provides input regarding staff and team performance. Daily coordination of the program may include workload utilization, scheduling, referral triage, prioritization, equipment management and interdisciplinary student placements. The Team Lead may consult on complex patient care cases and will provide clinical services as part of their role.
Description:
As an Audiologist II, you will be responsible for advancing front line Audiology clinical practice, ensuring it is consistent with current professional practice evidence. You will lead staff in providing safe, quality services with delivery based on population needs, and program parameters and in adhering to Alberta Health Services (AHS) standards, guidelines, policies and procedures. You will also assist with coordinating daily operations by collaborating with stakeholders and supporting the supervision of students and other healthcare practitioners. You will participate in program development, implementation and evaluation as well as provide leadership on department, program and service committees.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Audiology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
In-depth clinical knowledge and skills specific to Audiology services in a community setting are required along with a minimum of 3 to 5 years clinical experience as an Audiologist. Demonstrated ability to work, adapt, and respond within a complex ever-changing environment, employing problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills while working independently or with others. The successful candidate must be an effective oral and written communicator with strong assessment, organizational, problem solving and counselling skills. Strong interpersonal skills are required including the ability to develop both collegial and therapeutic relationships and the ability to navigate sensitive situations. Receptive to receiving and providing constructive feedback.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Connect Care and/or EMR is considered an asset.
